Discussion Thread

You can post comments or ask questions that will be visible in the "History" tab to everyone involved in the request (supervisors, managers, Cimes administrators, etc.).

The discussion thread is a quick way to communicate, ask questions, and/or follow up on your requests.

The discussion thread is accessible from a request via the "History" > "Comments" tab.

By default, all comments are public. This means your comments will be visible to everyone involved in the request (employees, supervisors, managers, Cimes administrators, etc.).

Addressing Someone Specifically

If you want your comment to be addressed to a specific person, you can select a recipient. Only that person will be able to see the comment.

Private comments are indeed private on the front end (for example, between a training department and a manager), but the back office will still be able to see them on their side.

Replying to a Specific Message

All users can reply to a comment and create a discussion thread. To do so, simply click on "Reply".

This will open a field for you to add your response:

In the example below, we can see that Camille is an admin and she posted both a public and a private message, which was replied to by the Training Department (Pierre). The public message will be visible to everyone, but the private message and its thread will only be visible to Camille and Pierre.

Email Notifications Based on Comment Type

Comments trigger email notifications. In the case of a private message, only the selected recipient and the training team will be notified. If a public message is sent, all stakeholders involved in the request will be notified by email.
